Fun Marijuana Facts!
by
jina
  1. Cannabis and hemp are the same. “Marijuana” was the Mexican name given to cannabis.
  2. Cannabis was first cultivated in China around 4000 B.C.
  3. The original drafts of the Declaration of Independence were written on hemp paper.
  4. One acre of hemp will produce as much paper as four acres of trees.
  5. Hemp is a source of fiber for cloth and cordage for rope. The hemp fiber is located inside the long stem of the plant.
  6. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson grew hemp. Washington, our first president, declared, “Make the most of the hemp seed. Sow it everywhere.”
  7. Hemp seed is nature’s perfect food. The oil from hemp seeds has the highest percentage of essential fatty acidsand the lowest percentage of saturated fats.
  8. Sterilized hemp seed is commonly used as bird seed.
  9. Rolling papers, like Bambu, are made from hemp paper.
  10. In 1937, the Marijuana Tax Stamp prohibited the use, sale and cultivation of hemp/marijuana in the United States.
  11. Five years later, during World War II, The U.S. Department of Agriculture released the film, “Hemp For Victory,” which encouraged American farmers to grow hemp for the war effort.
  12. Hemp is cultivated all over the world. Today, China, Korea, Italy, Hungary, Russia and France are among the countries that grow hemp for fiber, paper and other products.
  13. Cannabis is classified as a schedule 1 drug by the Food and Drug Administration. Designated as a narcotic, it cannot be prescribed by physicians to patients.
  14. In 1989, the DEA’s own administrative law judge concluded that “marijuana is one of the safest, therapeutically active substances known to man.”
  15. Cannabis can be used as a medicine to treat nausea, pain and muscle spasms. It alleviates symptoms of glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, AIDS, migraines and other debilitating ailments.
  16. Thirty-five states have passed legislation permitting medical use of marijuana.
  17. Twelve Americans recieve prescribed marijuana from the U.S. government.
  18. More than 400,000 Americans are arrested each year on marijuana charges.
  19. More than 400,000 Americans die from diseases related to cigarette smoking each year.
More than 150,000 Americans die of alcohol abuse each year.
But in more than 10,000 years of usage, no one has ever died from marijuana.

2012: New Era or Apocalypse?
by
astroton

People say the year 2012 is going to be a very special year. Here are several reasons: it is  a leap-year, also a total lunar eclipse will develop,   an alignment of the center of our galaxy with the Equator, an autumn equinox and a winter solstice stuff that only happens altogether every 13,000 years. One of the most important and curious things of this year is the 13 baktun, or the end of the long Mayan Calendar. The Mayan Calendar has a series of 20 years, called Katun and series of 20 Katuns called Baktun.  With this calculation, the 21st of December of 2012 is the last day of the 13 Baktun.  The Mayans registered this date as 13.0.0.0.0 which is amazing, because it matches the year with most weird and incredible events so far.

Lets add more stuff to this year. 2012 is a year of religious and esoteric relevance, with spiritual changes (some people call this apocalypse) while others take the Mayan’s  accuracy and the end of the Baktun as something supernatural, which will cause a major global change.

Its a lot of theories involving this year and the Mayan’s prophecies, which include the Mayans return to the Earth after the interstellar  trip ( this is because the Mayans disappeared without apparent reason in the post classic era) also scientific findings at the Bible suggest a meteorite collision with Earth. Nostradamus also predicted that something will occur between 2006 and 2012. Also some people claim that the 2012’s events will create the noosphere.   The Noosphere is like a virtual space in which the noogénesis will born, a place where the pathological phenomena of the mind and intelligence lives. In other words, the noosphere is the third phase of the Earth development, after the geosphere (inanimate matter)  and biosphere (biological life).

The Mayans said some changes will happen on this Earth Phase. They prophesied  a sequence of events, starting in 1999 and ending at 2012 These 13 years are what they called the season of  darkness, a preparation prior the end of days. In these 13 years the human race will have to decide its own fate before it is too late and destroy ourselves. Also the Mayan believed the Sun was stronger every 5125 years, with bigger and stronger solar flames causing high quantities of magnetism, which can move the Earth of its rotation and tons of catastrophes would show up.

At this point.. everything gets more interesting. The Mayans believed in the energy of the Universe. Mayans claimed that every time the Sun received energy from the galaxy (they called breathe) the polarity of the Sun creates a cosmic event that eventually would send the Earth to a new Era. These “breaths” are divided in cycles of 5,125 years. Lets explain this a little further: A Galactic year lasts 25,625 years. Inside this galactic year is 5 phases, “Morning, Noon, Afternoon, Night, and Late Night”. We are coming out of the last cycle. The prophecy talks about the “Time without time” which lasts 20 years before the total change that is from 1992 to 2012. In this period of time, humankind will see the changes of Earth made by them (Global warming, wars, plagues, viruses, etc) even problems within them and we will have to choose our fate after meditating our mistakes. (for good or bad).

This Era we are about to experiment was called by the Mayans as “Gold Era” in which a portal may open letting them pass through to guide us, to guide this civilization buried in fear and transform it.  This Era was predicted since the Mayans creation (year 3113 B.C) and if you count the years from there to now, the year 2012 is actually the end of the cycles already described…

The Gold Era is an era of change, we will evolve to a new level of harmony but we have to pass a series of tests before to accomplish the goal.  Between the Mayans’ predictions, here is a list of the most relevant ones:

1. The humankind will have a very big and strong knowledge in Technology. (You can see that right now).
2. We will go further in time and money. (happening right now)
3. We will enter the 5th dimension.
4. The Earth and the Solar system will have a synchronization with the rest of the Universe which may create so much energy enough to make us evolve into a new human type / or a series of catastrophes will develop.
5. Our DNA is going to be “updated” by the center of our Galaxy (Hubab Ku).
6. Everyone is mutating right now, ones more obvious than others.
7. The world is going to have a spiritual and physical change.
8. 2 more galaxies will align with ours.
9. The Earth’s heart is going faster or collapsing. Before the Earth’s heartbeat was 7.83 per second,  something used by the military but after 1980 is going at 12 per second!!!. In less words the day should be of 16 hours instead of 24.

Even though it is going to be a year of change.. doesn’t mean that its actually an apocalypse with destruction all over the place… it can be seen also as evolution time.

Now… in only 20 years… a lot shit is happening, its quaking too much, tsunamis killing thousands, new viruses, plagues, wars, global warming, sand storms, lots of animals extinct, deserts eating forests, sea level rising, poles melting, hunger, hate, racism… Do we want to be better? we need to start changing..

IN FACT! after all those acts of hate… I rather ask the Mayans to kill us… because apparently we are a big ass virus.. destroying Earth.

What do you think about this?

Before you start with the “It’s photoshoped” comments is not.  Angel Oak is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Charlestone, South Carolina. It has a height of 20 meters, measures 2.7 meters in diameter and it’s crown shades an area of 1,600 square meters. It’s longest limb stretches out 27 meters. Its name comes from the Angel estate, but local legends say ghosts of former slaves sometimes appear around the tree, as angels. Angel Oak has survived countless earthquakes and floods, as well as human interference. It was damaged by Hurricane Hugo, in 1989, but has since then recovered. impressive.

Aral Sea
Salt Lake-Sea was once the fourth largest lake in the world. As a result, water from the main feeder rivers (the Amu Darya and Syr Darya rivers) for irrigation, the lake loses a desired amount of water and start shallow. Now it is impossible to save him.

Gravity Bong DIY
by
astroton

You need:

1. Metal cap
2. Pocket Knife
3. Electric Tape
4. Soda bottle (2 liters)
instruments
Simple steps: Grab the knife and carefully open a hole in both caps (the metal one and the one from the liter). Then place them together with the electric tape. Try to place both holes in the same spot. Take your plastic bottle and cut it in half.

Gravity Bong

The immersion of this bong into the water will create a vaccum effect that will suck the smoke and keep it inside. When a person inhales the smoke immersing the bottle again, the device will create so much pressure and the smoke will enter the lungs very quickly. You will have a nice evening afterward

A priest and a bathroom
by
astroton

A priest, in urgent need to use the bathroom, walks into a local bar. The bar is jumping with loud music and lively conversation, but every few minutes the lights abruptly go off. Every time the lights go off, the bar crowd bursts into loud whoops and applause, but when they see the priest enter the bar, the place becomes absolutely quiet.

The priest walks over to the bartender and asks, “Can you please tell me where your bathroom is?”

“Sure, but I have to tell you, father, there’s a statue of a naked woman in it and she?s wearing only a fig leaf.”

“No problem, I’ll just avert my eyes, then,” Said the priest.

The bartender then shows the priest to the far side of the bar where the bathroom is located. After a short while, the priest comes out of the bathroom and the bar crowd pauses only long enough to give him a rousing cheer. Perplexed he goes over to the bartender and asks, I’m puzzled. Why did they cheer for me as I came out of the bathroom just now?”

“Well, father, it’s because your curiosity has made you human and likeable, just like us,” said the bartender. “May I pour you a drink?”

“No thanks you, but, I’m still puzzled,” said the priest.

“You see, father,” chuckles the bartender, “every time somebody moves the fig leaf on the naked woman statue, the bar lights go off. Now, what do you say to that drink?”

I dont wanna go to church no more…

This Hypothesis gave me the creeps… imagine if you are unlucky enough to be part of it?  This is the start of a series of very weird stories about the end of the world (at least as we know it now) in 3 years or December 12, 2012.  Very interesting thing to read when high isn’t?

Earth and Sun

Earth and Sun

The pole shift hypothesis is the hypothesis that the axis of rotation of a planet has not always been at its present-day locations or that the axis will not persist there; in other words, that its physical poles had been or will be shifted. The Pole shift hypothesis is almost always discussed in the context of Earth, but other bodies in the Solar System may have experienced axial reorientation during their existences.

In 1852, mathematician Joseph Adhemar suggested that the accumulation of thick ice at the poles periodically caused the Earth to flip and the equator to move to where the poles were.

Charles Hapgood is now perhaps the best remembered early proponent, from in his books The Earth’s Shifting Crust (1958) (which includes a foreword by Albert Einstein who was writing before the theory of plate tectonics was developed) and Path of the Pole (1970). Hapgood, building on Adhemar’s much earlier model, speculated that the ice mass at one or both poles over-accumulates and destabilizes the Earth’s rotational balance, causing slippage of all or much of Earth’s outer crust around the Earth’s core, which retains its axial orientation. Based on his own research, he argued that each shift took approximately five thousand years, followed by 20 to 30 thousand year periods with no polar movements.

This is an example of slow pole shift motion, which displays the most minor alterations and no destruction. A more dramatic view assumes more rapid changes, with dramatic alterations of geography and localized areas of destruction due to earthquakes and tsunamis. Several recent books propose changes that take place in weeks, days, or even hours, resulting in a variety of doomsday scenarios.

Regardless of speed, the results of a shift occurring results in major climate changes for most of the Earth’s surface, as areas that were formerly equatorial become temperate, and areas that were temperate become either more equatorial or more arctic.

Other theories which are not dependent upon polar ice masses include those involving:

  • a high-velocity asteroid or comet which hits Earth at such an angle that the lithosphere moves independent of the mantle
  • a high-velocity asteroid or comet which hits Earth at such an angle that the entire planet shifts axis.
  • an unusually magnetic celestial object which passes close enough to Earth to temporarily reorient the magnetic field, which then “drags” the lithosphere about a new axis of rotation. Eventually, the sun’s magnetic field again determines the Earth’s, after the intruding celestial object “returns” to a location from which it cannot influence Earth.
  • perturbations of the topography of the core-mantle boundary, perhaps induced by differential core rotation and shift of its axial rotation vector, leading to CMB mass redistributions. See, e.g., Bowin.
  • mass redistributions in the mantle from mantle avalanches or other deformations. See, e.g., Ladbury, and Steinberger and O’Connell.
